While still a growing $7.4bn industry, plant-based foods have some significant hurdles to overcome around formulation especially in the area of fat content, according to Mintel.
The supplier says its innovations with different levels of oils and fats can assist the food industry in its quest to balance nutrition with taste and indulgence.

at the end of 2003, has acquired UK flaked fats company Kelanco,
and with it a drive into value-added speciality fats for the
booming UK convenience food market.
